Every member of our herd has a unique personality, story, and way of connecting. Some are quiet and reassuring. Others are curious, playful, or wonderfully honest about their boundaries.
Just like people, no two horses are exactly alike. Their individual personalities are part of what makes working alongside them so meaningful.
At Kinship, our horses are not simply part of the environment. They are valued partners who create opportunities for connection, trust, self-awareness, communication, and personal growth.

Chicken Little
Chicken Little may be small in size, but he has a giant heart.
This 10-year-old Shetland pony is one of our most patient and trusted partners when working with children. Gentle, kind, and incredibly tolerant, he genuinely enjoys spending time with people and thrives on connection.
His calm presence can help participants feel comfortable and confident as they begin building relationships with horses.
Chicken Little has a special gift for making everyone feel welcome.
Exodus
Exodus is the youngest member of our herd and is full of curiosity, personality, and potential.
At four years old, she is still learning about boundaries, relationships, and the world around her.
Her playful and sometimes boundary-testing personality creates natural opportunities for participants to explore communication, self-awareness, patience, and personal boundaries.
As Exodus continues to grow and learn, she reminds us that growth is a journey best approached with patience, grace, and connection.
Hollywood
Hollywood is an old soul wrapped in the body of a young horse.
Gentle, affectionate, and deeply connected to the people she trusts, Hollywood loves being close. If she had her way, she might spend the day with her head resting on your shoulder and follow you wherever you go.
Hollywood sometimes has her own ideas about personal space, which is part of what makes her such an interesting partner. She offers natural opportunities to explore connection, boundaries, communication, and trust.
She is also an honest communicator. When Hollywood decides she is finished with an activity, she has no problem letting you know.
With her affectionate heart, loyal spirit, and unmistakable personality, Hollywood reminds us about the importance of connection, trust, boundaries, and being true to ourselves.
Blacky
At more than 25 years old, Blacky is the heart of the herd.
As the herd’s matriarch, she brings wisdom, confidence, and stability to those around her.
Blacky is a natural leader whose calm and steady demeanor creates opportunities for participants to experience trust, patience, and connection.
She is also the devoted mother of Baby, and their lifelong bond is a beautiful example of relationship and belonging.
Blacky’s nurturing spirit and quiet strength make her a treasured member of the Kinship herd.
Curandero
Curandero is a gentle giant with the heart of a teddy bear.
More than anything, he wants to feel connected and know that he belongs. He happily accepts scratches, affection, and kind attention from the people he trusts.
Curandero is endlessly curious and eager to learn, although sometimes the world can feel a little overwhelming. An unexpected sound or unfamiliar object may cause him to step away in search of safety.
What makes Curandero so special is his willingness to come back, try again, and rebuild trust.
Spend time with him and you may even find him checking your pockets for treats or leaning close for one of his unforgettable horse hugs.
His gentle and forgiving nature provides a beautiful example of courage, trust, patience, and connection.
Every horse brings something different.
Their personalities, preferences, boundaries, strengths, and even their quirks create opportunities for participants to learn about themselves and their relationships with others.
Sometimes the horse we expect to connect with is not the horse who chooses to connect with us — and that discovery can become part of the experience.
